Through a Cooperative Agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is supporting stronger collaboration between teaching hospitals and local public health and community organizations. Between October 2022 and September 2023, IPFCC served as consultants during the 2nd year of this work to enhance the focus on patient- and family-centered care, supporting collaboration and partnerships with patients and families from diverse and under-resourced communities. As part of the work, IPFCC developed a 4-part video series to increase understanding of ways to partner with families from diverse communities to build trust in vaccines and other aspects of health care. The series captures trusted “voices” within communities—doulas, cultural brokers, parents, and teens—and their collaboration with families and health care professionals.
