2017 Award Recipient
NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center

In 2017, IPFCC initiated its Partnership Award, a program recognizing innovative partnerships among patients, families, and health care professionals. For 30 years, IPFCC has provided leadership to advance the practice of patient- and family-centered care and ensure that partnerships are at the heart of the health care system. The award recognizes teams of health care professionals and patients/families who, through their collaboration, truly are changing health care.

The COVID-19 pandemic and other significant issues have profoundly impacted health care and underscored the critical need for partnership. Patients, families, and health care professionals have partnered, with commitment and creativity, to respond to new and difficult challenges and to transform health care. Congratulations to the 2022 IPFCC Partnership Award recipients!

According to IPFCC President and CEO, Beverley H. Johnson, “It’s wonderful to see that these two organizations and many others truly understand the importance of partnership—and are effectively using it, especially now, to guide both policy and practice. But now, more than ever before, we need patients and families as true partners at every level, in every setting of care, as we navigate these challenging times. We look forward to collaborating with health care leaders and their organizations to make this happen in our ‘new normal’.”
