IPFCC’s latest intensive training seminar, Moving Forward with Patient- and Family-Centered Care: Partnerships for Quality and Safety, was held in Detroit, Michigan on June 13-14, 2019. Two hundred attendees gathered at the two-day intensive seminar that provided comprehensive and practical sessions for leaders, staff, physicians, nurses and other clinical staff, patients, and families on how to be effective agents for patient- and family-centered change in their organizations. Twenty faculty from across North America presented 25 sessions on a variety of topics including: effectively partnering with patients and families in quality improvement, patient safety, responding to the opioid epidemic, education of health care professionals, research, and facility design. Attendees gathered in faculty-led small group discussions on both days and spent time developing a concrete action plan for their organizations. IPFCC extends a special thank you to MHA Keystone Center and Beaumont Health for their leadership support and partnership.
