Congratulations to our 2022 Partnership Award Recipients!
On November 15th, the Institute for Patient- and Family-Centered Care (IPFCC) announced its 2022 Partnership Awards, highlighting inspiring and innovative partnerships among patients, families and health care professionals. At its virtual 30th Anniversary Celebration, Transforming Health Care Through Partnerships: A Vision for the Future of PFCC, IPFCC recognized one hospital and one health authority whose work addressed relevant health care issues.

Children’s Specialized Hospital’s (CSH) Center for Discovery, Innovation and Development (CDID) integrated a program to identify Social Determinants of Health. Partnering with CSH’s Family Faculty, thousands of families were screened and those needing support were referred to services.

The COVID-19 pandemic was devastating for many people, but especially for those in care settings who were not able to be with their loved ones because of restrictions on family presence. Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) formed a Family Presence Expert Panel to support family presence in collaboration with patients, residents, families, staff, and health care leaders.
